Our take
Independence is the whole story: Mojeek runs its own crawler and index from the UK, so it is genuinely not Google or Bing in a privacy costume. That independence is also its limit, the index is smaller, so deep or niche queries can come up thin compared to the giants. Choose it when supporting a truly separate search ecosystem matters to you and you’ll fall back to another engine for the hard searches. If you need comprehensive results every time, it can’t yet match the majors.
