LibreCMC: For computers with minimal resources
Official website librecmc.org
Our take
The purist’s choice, a fully free-software router firmware endorsed for using no proprietary blobs, which is exactly why someone deep in the free-software world would pick it. That ideological strictness is also the practical limit: it supports a narrow set of low-resource devices and lacks OpenWrt’s breadth of hardware and features. Pick LibreCMC when running 100% free software on your router is a hard requirement. If you mainly want a capable, flexible router OS, OpenWrt supports far more devices and will frustrate you less.
