Bludit: Self-hosted, simple, fast, secure, flat-file CMS / Blog

Our take

A flat-file CMS with no database, which is the quietly clever bit: fewer moving parts means a smaller attack surface and dead-simple backups, just copy the folder. That simplicity caps it too, since it’s not built for large or high-traffic sites and the ecosystem is small. Ideal for a personal blog or small site you want to self-host and actually understand end to end. Outgrow it and you’ll want something with a real database.

Bludit license, in plain English
MIT
Permissive

Do almost anything: use, change, and ship it, even inside closed-source products. The only condition is keeping the copyright notice.

Permits

  • Commercial use
  • Modification
  • Distribution
  • Private use

Requires

  • License and copyright notice

Does not provide

  • Liability cover
  • Warranty

Why it matters: Permissive licensing lets anyone reuse this, including inside closed products. That is freedom to build on, but no guarantee that downstream copies stay open.
