Our take
Canary Mail is the polished, paid mobile client in this group, with built-in PGP and a slick interface that does not feel like a 2009 throwback. The trade is that the encryption engine is the open part while much of the app is not, and you are paying for a closed client rather than an open standard. It fits people on iOS and Android who want encryption to feel easy and are comfortable trusting a commercial vendor to deliver it.
